Our story
How Ocean Bay Began
Ocean Bay Tour Guides was founded by local Gambians who grew up along the Atlantic coast, in the villages, and beside the rivers that make this country so special. We watched visitors arrive and leave without truly experiencing the warmth, culture, and wildlife that we call home every day.
So we decided to change that. Starting with a small group of passionate guides and a deep knowledge of the land, we built a tour company rooted in authenticity. Every excursion we offer has been personally designed, tested, and refined by guides who know The Gambia not as tourists — but as locals.
Today, Ocean Bay Tour Guides is one of the most trusted names on the Smiling Coast. We have welcomed guests from across the world, from solo travellers to large family groups, and every single one has left with memories that last a lifetime.

Founder & Lead Guide
Born and raised in Bakau, Lamin has over 15 years of guiding experience. His deep knowledge of Gambian wildlife, history, and culture makes every tour unforgettable.
Ousman Jallow
Cultural & Heritage Guide
Ousman grew up in a traditional Mandinka village and is a gifted storyteller. He brings Gambian history, music, and village life to vivid life on every tour.
Fatou Ceesay
Birdwatching & Eco Guide
Fatou is one of West Africa's most respected birdwatching guides, with the ability to identify over 500 species by sight and sound across The Gambia's diverse habitats.
